Top house decorators rewarded in Lansford
Lansford Alive! held its 8th Annual Christmas House Decorating Contest on Thursday, and choosing winners from among the festive displays was a challenge. New this year was the category of Holiday Neighbors (two or more homes in a row), won by Debbie and Peter Kupres of 435-437 E. Ridge St. The couple won last year in the Lighting category.
This year, the Lighting category (The spirit of the holiday season with a display of lights) was won by Anthony and Anne Michele Rutch, 741 E. Patterson St. The Rutch's won last year in the Traditional decorating category.
This year, the Traditional decorating category (best decorations traditionally associated with the holiday season) was won by Jonathan and Kimberly Feisel of 239 W. Ridge St.
The Theme category (Decorating focused on an aspect of the holidays) was won by Joe and Marie Nihen of 25 E. Bertsch St.
John and Betty Mogilski once again captured the Whimsical category (Can be seen through the eyes of a child) prize for their Christmas wonderland display at 14 E. Bertsch St.
The Creativity category (Best use of imagination, non-traditional) was won again this year by Ceil Enama of 210 Cortright St.
The winners will receive gift certificates for Lansford Alive! member businesses. Judges for the contest were Bob Silver, Bob Gaughan, Chris Ondrus, and Renee Slakoper.
