Adult day care

The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center is seeking volunteers to serve on its board of directors. The board meets one evening per month. Anyone interested in serving on the board of directors may call (570) 668-6556.

Activities planned for the month of January include: Jan. 6, bingo; Jan. 11, show and tell; Jan. 12, church service; Jan. 13, craft day; Jan. 14, special breakfast; Jan. 18, cooking class; Jan. 19, sing-along with Audrey Christ; Jan. 21, monthly birthday party; Jan. 29, visit with St. Jerome's kindergarten class.

In addition to weekly sing-alongs and social games, hairstyling and manicure services are available. Both require advance notice.

Daily activities include exercise, reality orientation, remotivational and reminiscent therapy, as well as breakfast, lunch and a snack.
