Fire victim faces shoplifting charge

Pocono Mountain Regional Police report the victim of a house fire who was caught shoplifting the following day at the Kmart store in Monroe County has been arrested for retail theft.

Polilce said they were summoned at 10:28 a.m. Thursday to the store and learned that Robin Denny, 41, of Arrowhead Lakes, had been taken into custody by store personnel for trying to steal clothing. Police said Denny's home "burned down" the previous day.

While police were on scene, Denny's fiance, Donald Wagner, 50, who lived in the same home, arrived there and started yelling and striking vending machines. Police said both Denny and Wagner were transported to the polilce headquarters where they were both charged.

Police said the house fire is under investigation.
