Tamaqua man cited following hit-and-run

A Tamaqua man has been cited following a hit and run accident last week in the borough.

Officers were dispatched to the Owl Creek Road area on Wednesday after a vehicle apparently lost control, drove through a yard and struck a trailer. The trailer was located at 191 Owl Creek Rd. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, but left his footprints behind in the snow. Police followed the tracks, which led them to 221 Owl Creek Rd.

William Bowman, 22, was taken into custody and given a portable breath test, which registered a .144. Bowman was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to report an accident.
