Driver to be cited after accident

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said David Novatka of Schuylkill Haven will be cited for failure to drive at a safe speed as a result of a two-vehicle accident Monday at 3:22 p.m. on Rausch Creek Road in Tremont Township.

Police said he was driving a Chevrolet Aveo south on the road and was negotiating a right curve when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow and ice-covered road.

His vehicle's front bumper struck the left front corner of a Pontiac G6 driven northbound by Heather L. Wagner of Bernville.

Police said Novatka sustained a minor injury while Wagner suffered moderate injuries. The latter was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, in the Tremont Ambulance.

Damages to both vehicles were moderate.
