Barnesville man enters guilty plea in Schuylkill court
A Barnesville man was one of four persons who entered guilty pleas before Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in the Schuylkill County Court Tuesday and were sentenced as follows:
Graham Scott Thompson, 42, of 256 Front Street, Barnesvile, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and was sentenced to serve one year to five years in a state correctional institution, pay a fine of $2,500 and court costs, pay $300 to the SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund, $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 to the district attorney's office and his driver' s license is suspended for 18 months and when he will be able to resume driving he must install an ignitiion interlock device on his car for 12 months. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended he was fined $200 and failing to wear a seat belt was fined $10 plus costs of $100. He was cited by Chief John Morgan Frackville Pollice.
Christopher R. Hans, 24, on a dui charge was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program for five years with the first 30 days of his sentence to be served in the Schuylkill County Prison beginning Saturday, December 26 followed by four years and 11 months under probation, pay a fine of $1,500 and court costs, pay $300 to the SAE fund, pay $50 to the Catastrophe fund and a $50 monthly supervision fee for each month on probation and on a careless driving charge was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Hans was cited by Chief Edward Tarantelli, Butler Township Police, last February 15.
Kimberly A. Johnson, 41, Ashland, on a charge of forging doctor's prescriptions was placed on probation for 23 months, pay $50 to the CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account) fund and court costs. She was cited by Troopoer Denny Grimm on December11, 2007.
Willliam Duane Smith, 44, Minersville, on a dui charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours in the county prison and then released on probation for six months, pay a fine of $1,000 and court costs, pay $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, a $50 monthly probation fee, his license is suspended for 12 months and he must receive outpatient treatment and counseling.. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Smith was cited by Patrolman Charles Webber, Pottsville Police, on October 18, 2008.
On two other charges, possession of a small amount of marijuana he received 30 days probation and for possession of drug paraphernalia was sentenced to serve 12 months probation but both sentences run concurrent.
