One person is hurt in Bethel crash

Dean E. Witmer, 61, of Pine Grove, was slightly injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday at 7:27 a.m. on State Route 645 in Bethel Township, Berks County, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said he suffered a minor injury but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Police said he was driving a 2001 Toyota Tacoma southbound and was negotiating a right turn in the roadway when the vehicle slid on ice. He lost control of the unit causing it to strike a tree on the west berm.
