Tamaqua police cite Slatington man
A Slatington man has been cited by Tamaqua Police following a traffic stop in the borough on Saturday.
Officers were on patrol at 1:20 a.m., on Center Street (SR309), when they observed a vehicle driving towards them without headlights. A traffic stop was made in the vicinity of the White Diner, SR309S. The driver was identified as Jeremy Turner, 23, of Slatington. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Robert Matthews, 21, of Germansville. Turner was given a portable breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol level of .159.
During a search of the vehicle and its occupants, officers found a small quantity of suspected marijuana.
Turner will be cited for DUI and driving without the required lights. Both men will be cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
