Civil War Flag Preservation program to air on TV 13
A television program on Civil War Flag Preservation will air in January courtesy of a local state official.
The program, spearheaded by State Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Lehigh/Northampton), will include a tour of the flag preservation facility in Harrisburg by Jason Wilson, research historian for the Capitol Preservation Committee.
It will air throughout the month on Blue Ridge Cable TV, Channel 13, every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Monday at varying times between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
In addition, the program will also air on Service Electric Cable, Allentown, Channel 50, on the first Monday of the month at 9:30 p.m., and on RCN of Pennsylvania, Channel 4, on the third Thursday of the month at 9 p.m.
The show is aired free-of-charge by the local cable companies. As a result, the times and dates are subject to change.
In October, members of the Friends of Camp Geiger were presented with a citation by the CPC in recognition of the group's contributions toward the preservation of Pennsylvania Civil War flags.
At that time, Harhart hosted a tour of the flag preservation for the Friends of Camp Geiger, which is the subject of her January Legislative Report.
Also at that time, a check presentation was made by the Friends of Camp Geiger and the CPC's efforts to preserve numerous Civil War flags and memorabilia.
