Injuries averted in I-81 rollover

Randy Joseph Sudol, 44, of Wapwallopen, Pa., escaped injuries when a 2008 Ford F-150 he was driving crashed on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township on Sunday at 4:24 a.m., state police at the Frackville barracks reported.

Police said he was southbound at about mile pole 129.4 when he lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle traveled into the embankment on the east berm and rolled over, coming to rest in the travel lanes of the interstate facing west.

Also uninjured was the driver's son, Randy Jr., 18, same address.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. Police were assisted by the Ryan Township and Delano Fire departments and the Ryan Township EMS unit.
