No one is hurt in two-car mishap

No one was injured in a two-vehicle mishap Sunday at 11:38 p.m. at the intersection of Route 61 and Laurel Road in Deer Lake Borough.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Jose M. Ortiz, 43, of Pottsville, was driving a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass north on Rt. 61 when the operator failed to realize a vehicle in front os his had slowed to make a right turn onto Laurel Road. The Cutlass collided into the rear of the 2008 Mazda operated by Christy L. Tarconish, 24, of Pittsburgh, coming to rest along the east berm. Police said the Mazda spun clockwise across Laurel Road and struck several flower pots at 1709 Centre Turnpike, coming to rest along the north berm of Laurel Road facing south.

Police said Ortiz was cited for following too closely.
