Probation revoked for six defendants

Those who are fortunate to be placed on probation instead of serving a prison sentence better watch out, bettter obey, as you are being watched closely and if you don't behave, the probation officer will getcha.

The Schuylkill County Adult Probation Department is very efficient and thorough in doing its job as six defendants learned of their dedication to duty and were summoned to appear in the Schuylkill County Court on violations. The thoroughness of the work of the probation officers had all defendants waive hearing and admit to the violations and they were re-sentenced.

Judge Charles M. Miller revoked the probations and re-sentenced the following:

Alicia Lettich, 31, of 34 Hunter Street, Tamaqua, was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison and her time of liberty of 362 days was disallowed creating a new maximum date for her release as March 3, 2011. However, she was re-paroled amd semt to White Run Allenwood to complete a drug and alcohol treatment program. Lettich had entered a guilty plea on November 19, 2007 to charges of make a false report to police to incriminate another person and retail theft from Fegley's Mini Market. She was placed on probation.

Lucas Forker, 30, of 44 James Street, Kelayres, was remanded to the county prison and his time of liberty of 189 days were disallowed creating a new maximum date for his release at August 18, 2010. Forker had entered a gulty plea last March to possession of a controlled substance and was placed on probation.

Christopher Michael Brennan, 25, of 70 Wiggan Street, New Philadelphia, who had his probation revoked last April 29 and was not accepted into the State Intermediate Punishment Program, was sentenced to serve six months to 12 months in the county prison followed by 24 months on probation. However, he received credit for serving a prison sentence from May 5 to December 8 so he was re-paroled but must obtain and successfully complete a drug and alcohol assessment program and complete a mental health evaluation and he must not possess any alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs at his place of residence. Brennan pleaded guilty on November 20, 2007 to charges of assault and possession of an offensive weapon and after serving 94 days in prison was released on probation which was revoked last April.

Fae A. McManus, 25, Ashland, her liberty of 542 days were disaallowed creating a new maximum date for her release on October 15, 2011. The court ruled she was eligible for re-parole only if she is acceptedf for the Recovery Center. McManus pleaded guilty on April 29, 2008 to a chage of burglary and was placed on probation.

Bonita Louise Pavone, 45, of 124 Water Street, New Philadellphia, was sentenced to serve seven months to 26 months in a state correctional institutution and must complete a drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any treatment ordered. She pleaded guilty on November 25, 2008 to 12 counts of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on probation.

Nick P. Carusella, 25, Cressona, was remanded to the county prison to serve two months to 12 months. Carusella pleaded guilty on November 25, 2008 to charges of possession of a controlled substance and was placed on probation.
