Injuries are averted in Lehigh accident

No one was hurt in a two-vehicle accident Dec. 13 at 7:51 p.m. on Mill Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Philip Krogstad, 19, of Allentown, was driving a 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX north on the road when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the southbound lane of travel and struck a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor driven southbound by Michael J. Wassel Jr., 35, of Macungie.

Police said the Mitsubishi had disabling damage to its front left tire and was towed from the scene. Krogstad was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
