Slatington Women's Club news
The board of the Slatington Women's Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11 at the home of President Jessica Rehrig to complete the GFWC annual reports.
The next meeting of the Slatington Women's Club will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 40 S. Second St., Slatington. Walnutport Fire Dept. 2010 officers
Walnutport Fire Department's fire department officers for 2010 are Fire Chief John Kirchner, Deputy Chief Michael Wentz, Assistant Chief Walter Ingles, Fire Marshal Joseph Pennisi, Capt. Matthew Druker, Lt. Shawn Trone, safety officer Jeffery Seng, fire police Capt. Wayne Weidner, and fire police Lt. Robert Walper III.
The fire company officers are President Lamar Lauer, Vice President Osville Paules, recording secretary Deborah Paules, financial secretary Steffany Wechsler, treasurer Susan Fritz, and trustees Clarence Reph, Charles Fritz, David Stankovic, Michael Wentz, Henry Kline, and Bonnie Kirchner.

Next week will mark the beginning of a new era for the Northern Lehigh Column. TIMES NEWS reporter Terry Ahner, who knows the area well, will become the columnist.
This is my last Northern Lehigh Column and I would like to once again thank everyone for all your support over the years. I am looking forward to my retirement. Writing for the newspaper has been a rewarding experience. I will miss all my faithful readers. Periodically, I plan to write features for the TIMES NEWS.
