Two persons hurt in Monroe crash

Two persons were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:47 p.m. Dec. 19 on Running Valley Road in Jackson Township, Monroe County.

Injured were Nicholas E. Monteforte, 24, of Henryville, the driver, and Nicholas G. Dehaven, 26, of Canadensis, his passenger. Police said Monteforte sustained a minor injury while Dehaven's injuries were moderate. The latter was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, in the Central Pocono Ambulance.

Police said Monteforte was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer east when it went out of control and struck a tree.
