State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes investigated by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways, including one involving a pedestrian.

A crash occurred about 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, along SR183 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Edward C. Miller, 52, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala northbound when a 16-year-old female, from Pine Grove, who was walking along the berm, stepped in front of the car. The teen was struck in the front, rolled up onto the hood and hit the windshiled with her head.

After striking the windshield the teen rolled off the car and came to rest on the road.

The teen was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for treatment of injuries. Miller was not injured. Troopers said no charges will be filed in the incident.

Troopers said a crash occurred about 2:35 p.m. on Sunday along SR183, five-tenths of a mile north of the Berks County line. Francis R. Bartley Jr., 45, of Trevorton, Northumberland County, was northbound and as he approached a bend in the road he became distracted, troopers said. He attempted to adjust the sun visor on his vehicle but his 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 struck a raised concrete median and crossed over it into the southbound lane.

The car flipped over after striking the median and landed on its roof, then traveled 46 feet before coming to final rest in the southbound lane.

Bartley sustained minor injuries, troopers said. Damages to the vehicle were disabling.
