Autos are targeted by thieves

Seven reported acts of either vandalism to autos, theft from autos and attempted theft from autos occurred in Mahoning Township during the overnight hours of Friday, Oct. 30, and into the early morning hours of Saturday.

The crimes occurred on Jamestown Street, Center Road, Westside Road and Woodlawn Road.

The vandalism to vehicles was the smashing out of either the drivers side or passenger side windows. Car windows were valued at approx. $200 each.

Attempted thefts occurred from unlocked vehicles and glove boxes were searched.

Thefts occurred from locked and unlocked vehicles.

Items stolen were a money order, birth certificate, personal checks, social security card, and cash.

A bow and arrow valued at approximately $1,700 were also stolen.

Anyone witnessing or having information is urged to report it to township police by calling (570) 386-2241.
