Both drivers cited in Monroe crash
Both drivers involved in a crash about 12:41 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, along Golden Slipper Road at the intersection with Rocky Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County, were cited, according to state police at Fern Ridge.
Troopers said Raymond V. Keepers, 27, of Bartonsville, was westbound on Golden Slipper while Harry W. Franks, 72, also of Bartonsville, pulled onto Golden Slipper from Rocky Road. Troopers said Franks failed to see Keepers approaching and the latter could not stop his vehicle in time. Keepers' 1991 Ford Ranger pickup truck Franks' 2008 Mercury Milan, then struck a utility pole along the berm.
Keepers was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by Central Pocono ambulance. Franks was not injured.
Troopers cited Keepers for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed and Franks for stop signs and yield signs.
