Minor injuries in Carbon crash
A driver sustained minor injuries in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, along Locust Drive, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.
State police at Lehighton said David B. Mack Jr., 26, of Palmerton, was driving a Dodge Neon when he lost control while negotiating a curve. The car went onto the south berm and struck a chicken coupe, then descended down a 15-foot embankment where it came to rest in a field.
Mack was slightly injured but did not required medical attention. Troopers cited him for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers reported investigating another crash about 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 31 along SR3007 (Borger Hollow Road), in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Shakir A. Kelly, 18, of Effort, was driving a 2009 Nissan Versa southbound when he entered a curve in the road. The rear of the vehicle slide out causing it to travel in a southeast direction. The vehicle rotated counter-clockwise and went onto the berm where it overturned in soft dirt. The vehicle landed on its roof in a stream down a sloped embankment.
Kelly was not injured.
