Four-vehicle crash in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a four vehicle, rear-end type crash about 5:44 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, along SR61 at Tunnel Road in Norwegian Township, Schuylkill County, at the entrance to the Fairlane Village Mall.

Troopers said Devon S. Evanousky, 19, of Ringtown, was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer northbound near the intersection and approaching a red signal light. Troopers said Evanousky became distracted as he was adjusting the dial on his radio and failed to observe a 2003 Dodge Caravan, driven by Jospeh M. Bane Jr., 61, of Frackville, slowing down in front of him.

Troopers said the Ford struck the Dodge in the rear. The impact pushed the Dodge into the rear of a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Tracey A. Grabish, 44, of Schuylkill Haven. The Equinox then collided into the rear of a 1996 Honda Accord driven by Mary R. Koch, 50, of Schuylkill Haven.

Koch complained of neck and back pain and was taken to a Pottsville hospital for treatment. No one else was reported injured.

Damages were disabling to the Dodge Caravan and minor to the three other vehicles, troopers said.

Troopers said charges will be filed against Evanousky.
