Pistol, jewelry taken in break-in

A pistol and jewelry were reported taken in a Schuylkill County burglary.

State police at Frackville said the residence of William D. Ditzler, 46, of 1651 Chnestnut St. (SR443), in New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township, was entered sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Entry was gained by forcing open a rear window.

Once inside the criminals went through various cabinets and drawers in the home. Removed was a 9mm Smith & Weston pistol, a rifle and a jewelry box containing various pieces of jewelry.

Troopers said there was an attempt to enter a shed on the property which resulted in damages to a wndow on the shed.
