Special Olympics of Carbon County recruiting athletes

Special Olympics of Carbon County is inviting existing and new athletes to come to a pizza and movie night at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Pizza Como, Carbon Plaza Mall. During the evening there will be an opportunity for new athletes to register for the upcoming training season. The bowling training season will held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 Fritz's Lanes, Second and South streets, Lehighton or athletes can attend training from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 at Haja Lanes, Palmerton. Floor Hockey training season will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, Jim Thorpe.

Following pizza party, athletes will be treated to a movie at the Mahoning Valley Cinema.

Special Olympics of Carbon County provides athletic training opportunities to physically and mentally challenged individuals living in Carbon County. Special Olympics of Carbon County is also seeking volunteers to serve as coaches, helpers, and management team members.
