Scripture sharing
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, sponsors scripture-sharing group sessions on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the church hall. The group is studying the "New Testament, Letters to the Romans."
Bloodmobile planned
The Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile will visit Summit Hill in December. Sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, the bloodmobile will be headquartered in the church hall on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 2-7 p.m. A goal of 35 pints has been set.
Miller-Keystone Blood Center is the only blood supplier to our local hospitals (Blue Mountain Health System Lehighton and Palmerton, St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network (Miner's Memorial, Coaldale).
Methodist Charge
The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for the week of Nov. 15 is as follows:
The morning worship service in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. Harvest Home will be observed. Members are asked to contribute canned goods and nonperishable food items. All items will be donated to the Summit Hill Food Bank.
The worship service in the Coaldale United Methodist Church will be held at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.
The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
Presbyterian Church
The schedule for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, formerly the First Presbyterian Church of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Nov. 15, is as follows:
Sunday school and adult Bible study, 9 a.m.; and worship service, 10:30 a.m.

St. Vincent de Paul
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will meet tonight at 7 o'clock in the parish center.
St. Ann Society
The St. Ann Society, Branch No. 140, affiliated with St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will hold its annual Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Lansford AMVETS Post Home, beginning at 1 p.m. For more information, members can call Louise Dunstan, (570) 645-4354.

The Nesquehoning Democratic Club will hold a meeting on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Lions Club building at 6 p.m. Frank Jacobs invites everyone to join the meeting in discussing plans for 2010 and 2011.
