Carbon, Monroe break-ins probed

Burglaries in Carbon and Monroe counties are being probed by state police at Fern Ridge.

The Monroe break-in occurred at Auto Gallery, located along SR209 at Weir Lake Road, in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township. Unknown criminals pushed an air conditioner through a side window to gain entry.

Once inside they rummaged through the business and took several items, troopers said. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Nov. 12 and 11 a.m. on Nov. 13.

The business is owned by Miles T. Reinhart, 64, of Wind Gap.

The Carbon incident occurred at the Barrett residence at 55 Shakespere Drive, in Penn Forest Township. Someone attempted to enter the home by breaking a glass in the front door. Troopers did not indicate if entry was actually made. The incident occurred sometime between Nov. 9-12.
