Hiker, dog rescued

Jim Thorpe Fire Department personnel were called out Sunday around 5 p.m. to search for a hiker and his dog who were located somewhere on the Switchback trail area of Mount Pisgah when darkness fell. With the aid of the hiker's cell phone and lights shined by the fire personnel, the hiker and his dog were located within about an hour of the call, by a firefighter using a 4-wheel drive ATV. They walked down the mountain with no injuries to anyone.
