Probe of former custody officer turned over to AG

Further investigation of attorney Lynn Bressi, former Schuylkill County custody counseling officer, has been turned over to the state Attorney General's Office by the Pottsville Police Department.

The matter was brought for investigation by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin, who had hired Bressi under contract to handle hearings of people on divorce and custody matters.

The county has two other attorneys serving in the same capacity. They receive numeration based on an hourly fee.

Baldwin requested District Attorney James P. Goodman to investigate, however, Goodman recused himself because Bressi's husband, attorney Charles Bressi, had been an assistant on his staff who had left two years ago to become the law clerk for Judge John E. Domalakes.

Goodman turned the investigation over to Pottsville police, who made a preliminary investigation.

Capt. Richard Wojciehowsky announced he is turning over his findings to the state Attorney General's office to continue with further investigation.

He said his job was to determine if there were bills for services that were not performed and claims there were such findings.

Bressi has resigned her post.
