Car catches fire on Rt. 248

Emergency personnel attempt to extinguish a fire that started inside this 1997 Chevy Cavalier operated by Jesse Strawser, 21, of Lehighton. The fire broke out at around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday while Strawser was traveling along Route 248 east. No injuries were sustained. The Palmerton Fire Department, Aquashicola Fire Department, and Palmerton Community Ambulance responded to the scene.
