St. Paul Lutheran

The schedule for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, for the week of Nov. 22 is as follows:

Sunday, Nov. 22 - Sunday school, 9 a.m.; collating of church newsletter, 9:15 a.m. (volunteers are needed); and worship service, 10:30 a.m. There will be a special budget meeting immediately following the worship service. All members are invited to attend. A light lunch will be provided.

Church members are reminded of two upcoming dates, as follows: on Saturday, Nov. 28, volunteers are needed to help decorate the church for the Advent/Christmas season, starting at 10 a.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 29, is the deadline for submitting donations of white gift items.

Presbyterian church

The schedule for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, formerly the First Presbyterian Church of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Nov. 22, is as follows:

Sunday school and adult Bible study, 9 a.m.; and worship service, 10:30 a.m.

Food distribution

The Summit Hill Food Pantry conducts a monthly distribution of food boxes to the needy in the community. Anyone in need of the assistance, or knowing of individuals or families who do, is asked to contact Rose Marie Armon, (570) 645-3604, or Emma Weaver, (570) 645-7348.

The pantry, a non-denominational entity, is always in need of donations and manual assistance. To donate items or your time, contact the above persons as well.

The next distribution will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 24, starting at 9 a.m.

Lansford

Scripture sharing

The Outreach Ministry group of St. Katharine Drexel Church, Lansford, will hold scripture sharing sessions during the upcoming Advent season, during which time the scripture readings of the four Sundays of Advent will be discussed. Persons interested in participating can call Dorothy Kuhn at the parish office, (570) 645-2282.

Outreach meeting

The Outreach Ministry group of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will meet tonight at 7 o'clock at 246 E. Bertsch St.

Choir rehearsal

Choir rehearsal for St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the church.

Coaldale

Christian video series

Christ the Redeemer Church, 151 Third St., Coaldale, will sponsor a series of Christian videos designed to be one major part of the puzzle of Christian life. The series will begin this Saturday, at 1 p.m., and continue until further notice.

The public is welcome to attend.

Nesquehoning

Zion Lutheran Church

Morning worship begins at 9 a.m. Sunday is Christ the King Sunday. Labor of Love boxes for World Hunger will be collected this week.

White Gifts are being collected for St. Luke Village. Requested items include tissues, body wash, lotion, deodorant (man or woman), perfumes and after shave, jewelry, men's white and dark socks, women's white anklets and socks. DO NOT donate powder, mouthwash or denture cleaner. Items should be wrapped in white tissue paper and labeled. Deadline is Nov. 29.
