The engagement of Stefanie Markley, Palmerton, to Michael Becker Jr., also of Palmerton, has been announced by her parents.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Markley of Bowmanstown. She is a 1999 graduate of Palmerton Area High School. She is a 2003 graduate of Penn State University, and also earned her master's degree in 2009 from Kutztown University.
She is employed by Blue Mountain Health System.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Becker of Lansford. He is a 1998 graduate of Panther Valley High School, and he has also obtained his associate degree in criminal justice.
He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He is employed by the City of Allentown.
