No increase for seniors this year

Dear Editor:

This year we seniors who are on Social Security will not get a cost of living raise in benefits. Is Washington D.C. on another planet? Since they said the cost of living has not gone? They surely must be on another planet!!!!

* Heating oil has gone up.

* Gasoline has gone up.

* My phone bill has gone up $10.

* My electric has gone up.

* My government sponsored drug insurance went up last year the exact amount my Social Security went up. How did they know how much my S.S. went up? Did this happen to other seniors? That completely canceled the raise I got last year.

When did any of these aliens in Washington D.C. visit a grocery store last? Everything is up in the grocery stores - but not only that - suddenly a pound of 16 oz.. has become 13 oz.! And 8 oz.. has become 5 oz.. Our government which is supposed to work for us is cutting benefits to lower income persons - while giving millions to those who have!
