Tamaqua Middle School National Junior Honor Society students recently participated in a Make-A-Difference-Day project that raised $220. The project was organizing a pet pageant, where students submitted a picture of their pet dressed up to fit the category of prettiest, funniest, or craziest sports fan. Students and faculty were then able to vote for their favorite pet. The winning pets belonged to Mikayla Boyle, Emily Wenzel, and Zach Jones. The $220 collected was donated to the Hillside S.P.C.A. in Pottsville. Shown in the picture along with the winners are honor society president, Joann Butkus, and members Derek Cinicola, Anthony Rago, and Jack Nemeth.
