DUI arrests reported

State police at Lehighton reported on three pending driving under the influence (DUI) arrests following incidents on Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21.

About 6:47 p.m. Friday troopers stopped a vehicle operated by Anthony Bombico, 40, of Jim Thorpe, along SR209 at SR443 in Lehighton, for a motor vehicle code violation. Troopers said upon speaking with Bombico it was determined he was believed to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Troopers said charges of DUI of a controlled substance and drug possession will be filed pending laboratory test results.

At about 10:17 p.m. Friday Roy Gomez, 31, of Albrightsville, was stopped along SR209 at Berger Hollow Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a registration violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI of alcohol and a controlled substance.

On Saturday about 1:55 a.m. troopers stopped Mark Bensel, 49, of Delaware Water Gap, along Beltzville Drive, in Polk Township, for a traffic violation. At the stop he was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI, troopers said.
