Rush police make retail theft arrests

Rush Township police have made two retail theft arrests as well as investigating a hit and run accident and a burglary.

Peter J Pappas, 69, Tamaqua, is facing retail theft charges after allegedly stealing $5 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Nov. 18 at 6:39 p.m.

Larry S Eckert, 44, Nesquehoning, is facing retail theft charges after allegedly stealing $50.92 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Nov. 22 at 7:17 p.m.

Township police are investigating a hit and run accident on Nov. 22 at 2:56 a.m. involving a utility pole that was sheared in half on Grier Avenue. The vehicle is possibly a truck with heavy passenger side damage.

Police are probing a burglary at 247 Lake Dr., Lake Hauto, on Nov. 22. Forced entry was gained through a side door.
