Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

Published November 24. 2009 05:00PM

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident about 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 244 Mill Creek Ave., in East Norwegian Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said troopers came upon a disabled 1995 Jeep Cherokee on the road at the above location. While at the vehicle the driver arrived on foot and identified herself as Denise Hubler, 44, of Pine St., Port Carbon. She told troopers she was driving the Jeep when it became disabled and left the area to try and get help.

Troopers said Hubler was found to be under the influence and was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which she failed. She was then placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, where she submitted to a blood test.

Troopers said a DUI charge will be filed against Hubler.
