Tamaqua teen faces retail theft charge

A 14 year old Tamaqua male has been charged with retail theft following an Oct. 14 incident at the M and S Hardware Store on Broad Street.

According to the report, the teen entered the store around noon and proceeded to look at merchandise. At one point, he took a Carhart hooded sweatshirt and placed it on his person. After removing the tags, he attempted to leave the store without making payment.

A store employee witnessed the action, stopped the teen and contacted police.
