West End Rotary donates ice-rescue suits to fire company

Published November 27. 2009 05:00PM

The West End Rotary Club, with the money it raised from this year's Oktoberfest and Car Show, will buy two ice-rescue suits for the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company.

The club will also donate some of the proceeds to Rotary International's goal of eradicating polio throughout the world.

West End Rotary's first Oktoberfest drew hundreds of people, plus 61 car and motorcycle exhibitors.

More than 120 meals were served, as well as fresh-pressed apple cider. An old-fashioned cake walk also attracted a number of participants.

Dozens of businesses and volunteers helped to make the event a success.
