Driver leaves scene of accident
State police at the Lehighton barracks said the driver of a vehicle that crashed on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. on Township Route 444 in Polk Township, Monroe County, left the scene of the crash.
Police said the vehicle, a 1998 Ford Ranger, was southbound when it left the lane of travel, crossed over the northbound land and went off the roadway onto an embankment, causing it to roll over onto its roof. The truck came to rest across both lanes of travel.
Police said the vehicle sustained heavy damages to its roof, the windshield and driver's door. It required towing from the scene.
