Assists in party for children

Published November 30. 2009 05:00PM

Lycoming College student and Alpha Xi Delta sister, Kristina Maurer, assisted with the 5th Annual Monster Mash Baseball Bash, a Halloween party for children ages 13 and younger held at the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum in South Williamsport.

Maurer, a sophomore biology and environmental science major, is a resident of Jim Thorpe and a graduate of Marian Catholic High School.

The Lycoming College chapter of Alpha Xi Delta co-sponsored the event, with all proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Founded in 1812 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Lycoming College is a national liberal arts and sciences institution dedicated to the undergraduate education of more than 1,400 students. Lycoming is one of the 50 oldest colleges in the nation. For more information, visit
