Election dates
The General Election in Carbon County and Summit Hill will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The Jeffersonian Democratic Club, Summit Hill, reminds voters of the following deadlines:
Last day to register before the election is Oct. 5.
Last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Oct. 27.
Last day for the county Board of Elections to receive absentee ballot is Oct. 30.
Anyone who needs an application to register or an absentee application can contact one of the following committee persons: First Ward, Michael Crampsie, (570) 645-7843; Second Ward, John Shemansik, 645-7933; Third Ward, William O'Gurek Jr., 645-3549; or White Bear, Debbie Giglotti, 645-5783.
St. Paul Lutheran
The schedule for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, for the week of Oct. 4 is as follows:
Sunday, Oct. 4 - Sunday school, 9 a.m.; worship service, 10:30 a.m.; and confirmation class, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday is also the deadline for parishioners to make reservations for the 160th anniversary dinner of the church.
Monday, Oct. 5 - The Women's Auxiliary will meet at 10 a.m. to houseclean the church pews. Volunteers are needed to help with this project.
Methodist Charge
The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for the week of Oct. 4 is as follows:
Sunday, Oct. 4 - worship services will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services. The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Administrative Council of the Summit Hill church will meet in the church at 7 p.m.
Presbyterian Church
The Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, formerly the First Presbyterian Church of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill, resumed its regular worship service schedule on Sunday, Sept. 20. It is as follows:
Sunday school and adult Bible study, 9 a.m.; and worship service, 10:30 a.m. Communion will be celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
