Oct. 5, 1970 - Mayor Wilbur A. Bauchspies of Lehighton, addressing members of the Lehighton Rotary Club, stated, "There is a serious problem of dope in the area." He added, "I blame 99 percent of the problem on the parents. They won't cooperate with us, they won't discipline their children, they don't care." He told the Rotarians, "The dope problem is serious and it is getting worse."
