Four placed in probation program on DUI charges

Published October 05. 2009 05:00PM

Four first time offenders, all charged with driving under the influence (DUI), were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program last week.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wipe clean. However, if they fail to complete the program the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all charges filed in the matter. In DUI cases, if a person is convicted of another DUI charge within 10 years, the ARD charge will count against them for sentencing purposes.

The four were each placed for a year as follows:

Sandra J. Haldeman, 50, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on May 24 along Mauch Chunk St. in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .16BAC.

She was ordered to pay $450 and costs, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and license suspended for 60 days.

Bryan M. Henning, 21, of Whitehall, was arrested on April 27 along Beaver Run Rd., in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .11BAC.

He was ordered to pay $400 and costs, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 60 days.

He was ordered to pay $350 and costs, get a D&A evaluation, and license suspended for 90 days.

Vincenzo Santino Centamore, 35, of Albrightsville, was arrested on June 27 along Pohopoco Drive, in Penn Forest Township. Given a test, the result was .21BAC.
