Published October 06. 2009 05:00PM

Max Harleman, who spent the summer teaching third graders in Peru to use computers, has been invited on an expense-paid trip to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass. He was an intern with One Laptop Per Child, a company that makes inexpensive computers ($188) to be provided to children in other countries who do not have them.

He will talk to administrators of the company to summarize what he did over the summer and suggest improvements to the program.

Harleman, of Towamensing Township, is the son of Dennis and Lyn Harleman, and is completing his senior year at Pittsburgh University.
