Chelsea Jones enjoying outstanding tennis season

Chelsea Jones, the 2008 TIMES NEWS Tennis Player of the Year, is enjoying an oustanding freshman season for Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Chelsea Jones, a Tamaqua High School graduate, is playing both singles and doubles for the Griffins.

In singles matches, Jones has played the the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 positions, copiling a 14-2 record. In doubles play, Jones has played in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 positions and has a 6-2 mark.

Gwynedd-Mercy has a 14-2 record this season, including a perfect 9-0 mark in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
