Motorcyclist injured in Carbon

A motorcyclist was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, about 2:39 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4.

State police at Lehighton said Diane G. Deiter, 40, of Northampton, was driving a 2008 Yamaha Star bike northbound on Forest Inn Road when she attempted to negotiate a curve. The bike left the lane of travel, drove on loose gravel on the shoulder causing it to slide from underneath her.

Troopers said Deiter sustained an injury to the right arm. She was wearing a full helmet, jacket and boots at the time of the crash, troopers noted.
