South Ward treats
Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison has set Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., as Trick or Treat Night in the borough. The South Ward Neighborhood Committee and the South Ward Playground Association will combine forces to provide a safe trick or treat event that evening and are extending an invitation for residents of the ward who wish to participate.
Residents are welcome to bring their Halloween treats to the playground and set up a table. There will also be arrangements for those unable to attend, but still willing to have their treats distributed to the little ghouls and goblins. SWNC Chairwoman Louise Howells suggests participating residents place a sign on their doors, directing youngsters to the playground area.
"Treaters" are welcome to preregister to ensure there are enough tables.
