Reinstate 8 years of service

Dear Editor:

I've been hearing a lot about the troops having to do two or more tours of duty, and how beat up they get being shoved from here to there.

When I was young, you had to serve eight years either active or inactive, but you had to do your part.

I think we should give these guys a break and reinstate eight years.

It would train our youth for jobs when they get out and give a relief period to others.

The service has been very good training for civilian life.
