Donations needed
St. Matthew's UCC is looking for any donations for the Layman's Fall Bazaar and Chinese Auction. They need quart jars for soup and new items/gift certificates for the Chinese Auction and baked goods for the bake sale. These items will be needed at the church by Friday/Saturday Nov. 6/7.
Operation: Touch of Home
St. Matthew's has selected Operation: Touch of Home as October's benevolence. If anyone would like to make a donation of cash or items to be sent to our service men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, please bring that donation to the church, Sundays between 8:30-11:30 a.m. If you would like to help this organization, they will be meeting on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Gilbert American Legion. Halloween parade
The Eldred Township Halloween Parade will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18 (rain date, Oct. 25.) This event is open to Eldred Township and surrounding township residents. All entrants should be at the St. Matthew's Church grove in Kunkletown between 11 a.m. and noon. Judging will begin at 12:15 p.m. and the parade will begin at 1 p.m.
The parade committee wants people to know that because of the growth of the parade, they can no longer take registrations the day of the parade. If anyone would like to dress up in costume and walk in the parade, you are welcome to do so but be there no later than 12:30 p.m. You will not be registered or judged. Larry and Brenda Frable would like to wish their granddaughter Caitlyn Eberhart a belated happy 21st birthday on Oct. 5. Brenda Frable's 62nd birthday was Oct. 9 and Larry's brother, Jerry Frable was 63 on Oct. 10.
