Schuylkill assault incident is probed

State police at Frackville are investigating an assault incident that occurred early Sunday morning in a Schuylkill County community.

Troopers said Anthony Burke, 38, of 127 Furnace Rd., New Philadelphia, Blythe Township, was kicked repeatedly inside his home by an individual. Burke was reportedly flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of rib injuries. The incident occurred about 3:15 a.m., troopers said.

Troopers added that details of the incident are still being gathered and the investigation is continuing.
