Barnesville couple wed 50 years
Mabel "Dolly" and James Shirey
Mr. and Mrs. James Shirey of Barnesville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married on Sept. 5, 1959 in Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, by the Rev. Schlitzer.
Mrs. Shirey is the former Mabel C. Miller, daughter of the late Vernon and Mabel Miller, Barnesville.
Mr. Shirey is the son of the late George and Hazel Shirey, Tamaqua.
The couple has one daughter, Christine Harris of Quakake. They also have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A party in their honor was held at the Delano Fire Company.
