Michael Lindenmuth, a sophomore at Mount Saint Mary's University, Emmitsburg, Md., was one of five students selected to attend the Red Mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington D.C. The celebrant of the Mass was Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston, Texas.

The Red Mass refers to a Mass celebrated annually for judges, attorneys, prosecutors, law school professors, students, and government officials.

The Mass is celebrated on the Sunday before the first Monday in October. (The Supreme Court convenes on the first Monday in October.)

In attendance were six Supreme Court justices, Vice President Joe Biden, members of congress, and many members of the legal community.

Lindenmuth is the son of Earl and Lisa Lindenmuth and the grandson of Sam and Jennie Citrano of Nesquehoning.
